A.     Board Development: 

 

·        Deepen knowledge and application of the Educational Leadership System™ (ELS) authored by Dennis Cheesebrow of TeamWorks International and previously reviewed by School Board in 2008 and 2012 in order to improve productive governance, internal Board and Board/Supt relations, and constructive approaches for addressing differing opinions

 

·        Reflect on the areas of strength and opportunities for growth suggested by the Board of Education’s 2012-2013 self-evaluation results

 

B.     Vision Statement: 

 

·        Explore how to drive the vision using the partnership linkage for excellence in management through VisionCards, an approach to performance management and reporting

 

·        Develop the District Vision and Mission Statements that will drive continuous improvement in 2013-14 and beyond

 

C.     Strategic Priorities: 

 

·        Develop the context for setting the district goals for 2013-14 and 2014-15 through an open governance and management conversation regarding the intersection of learning, poverty and race; the current conditions; the key influencers; options for improvement of learning; and the key roles and issues for the Board of Education and District Administration
